Blue Hawaii

This project was so much fun. Our clients love to bake and entertain, and their kitchen was isolated from the rest of the (small) house by a wall that made everything feel cluttered and claustrophobic. We used the classic “hide a beam in the ceiling and take out the bearing wall” trick to open everything up and make the living area feel so much bigger. The side entrance got a new mudroom with an integrated laundry closet.

The center banquette is a multi purpose dining area/extra seating for the living room/ hidden storage under the seat multi tool that really ties the room together.

Add in a new heat pump, built in entertainment center and a bathroom refresh, and the whole place feels like a new house. The color palette was inspired by photos of their wedding day decorations, a sweet memory every time they step into the kitchen. Love rules.
